17 TV And Movie Moments That Were So Clever, The Writers Literally Planned Them For Years

2020.09.20 02:17 autobuzzfeedbot 17 TV And Movie Moments That Were So Clever, The Writers Literally Planned Them For Years

  1. In Avengers: Endgame, when Captain America was about to fight Thanos's army by himself, but then Sam appeared behind him ~on his left~, calling back to The Winter Soldier.
  2. In Parks and Rec, when Leslie got a free MRI during her blind date with Chris in Season 2, and he said her body was capable of having triplets the first time she got pregnant. Then, in Season 6, she was pregnant with triplets.
  3. In Breaking Bad, when Walter White rolled that barrel through the desert at the end of Season 5, he unknowingly walked right by the pants that he lost in the pilot.
  4. In Split, when the final scene started playing, and Bruce Willis's character appeared, revealing that the whole movie was actually a sequel to Unbreakable, which came out 16 years earlier.
  5. In Sister, Sister, when the series had a full-circle moment by starting and ending with the same department store clerk thinking that Tia and Tamera were one person.
  6. In Community, when they spent the first two seasons casually mentioning the name "Beetlejuice," and after the third time, an actual Beetlejuice appeared in the background, just like he did in the movie.
  7. In Seinfeld, when the pilot opened with a conversation about shirt buttons, and nine years later the finale ended with the same exact conversation about shirt buttons.
  8. In Veep, when Selina and her team hoped that a big news event would happen — like Tom Hanks dying — to distract the media from reporting on her scandal in the pilot episode. Then, in the finale, Tom Hanks's death overshadowed the news of her own funeral.
  9. In Final Destination 5, when the movie ended with Sam boarding his flight to Paris, and you realized it was the same plane that exploded after takeoff in the first Final Destination.
  10. In Grey's Anatomy, when Dr. Miranda Bailey had to give birth without her husband in Season 2, so George stepped in to help her. Then, 14 years later, Bailey returned the favor and repeated the same mantra to Amelia so she wouldn't feel alone while giving birth.
  11. In American Horror Story: Apocalypse, when Madison Montgomery returned five years later and repeated her iconic "Surprise, bitch" line from AHS: Coven.
  12. In How to Get Away With Murder, when the pilot's first scene and the finale's ending scene were practically identical, except Annalise Keating was replaced by Christopher.
  13. In Deathly Hallows Part 2, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione fought the same creatures during the Battle of Hogwarts that they fought throughout the series, in the exact order that they appeared throughout each movie.
  14. In Lost, when the final scene of the show perfectly mirrored the pilot's intro from six years earlier, except everything happened in reverse.
  15. In the Toy Story series, when the aliens spent the first movie worshipping "the claw," and then, in the third movie, they used it to save everyone from being burned alive in the fire.
  16. In Modern Family, when the final scene of the series perfectly mimicked the first scene of the series by putting each character in the same situation they were in 11 years earlier.
  17. And in 30 Rock, when they had a running gag that Kenneth might be immortal, so in the finale's post-credits scene, they showed him 100-plus years in the future with flying cars.

2020.09.18 20:52 flyinmacaronimonster Virginia is for Voters: A Highly Detailed Guide to Voting in Northern Virginia

**EDIT: Added Stafford County and Fredericksburg
**EDIT 2:
If you have already requested an absentee ballot but want to vote in-person before receiving your ballot, you will have to vote with a provisional ballot. Voting provisionally is something that you would want to avoid unless necessary. So, if you have already requested your ballot by mail, it is HIGHLY recommended that you wait for your ballot to be mailed to you, and then drop it off in person.
https://www.elections.virginia.gov/media/training/Intro-to-Provisional-Ballots.pdf

For Northern Virginia, I would like to say that, in all honesty, the drop-box situation is quite patchwork. When drop-boxes were first announced, I thought there would be like one of these in every City and County:
https://s3.reutersmedia.net/resources/?m=02&d=20200820&t=2&i=1530339454&r=LYNXMPEG7J0NJ&w=940
Upon doing more research, I realized that the drop-box situation, not just in Northern Virginia, but also across the commonwealth of Virginia inconsistent.
Some places have those types of drop boxes available (not necessarily that size, but like that kind of drop-box), and some don't. It all just varies.
So, I will break it down by city and county in Northern Virginia
I will be detailing the following counties and cities:
CITIES AND COUNTIES:
Alexandria (city)
Arlington (county)
Fairfax (county)
Fairfax (city)
Falls Church (city)
Fredericksburg (city)
Loudon (county)

2020.09.18 16:17 googles99 First PC build to game and help manage Zoom University

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
I play games that aren’t too intense like Minecraft, Terraria, various free Steam games, and similar titles, but am looking to get into more serious games. My primary limitation at the moment is playing on a laptop so I haven’t been able to really try out other games because the hardware in my laptop isn’t great (Lenovo Yoga 720 13” for reference). In addition to gaming, I’d like for it to be able to help with Zoom University multitasking. I have a 2 in 1 laptop that I can’t take notes (using OneNote and a stylus) on anymore with Zoom open, so if the pc could have the zoom call and multitask while I take notes on my laptop, that would be ideal
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
I’d like to aim for a maximum of $1,200 on the PC, $500 on the monitor, and $300 on peripherals. That’s ideal, but the overall $2,000 can be modified however necessary. I am currently between jobs so if you have any ideas for a build with a lower budget that would still easily accomplish my current and future usage of the pc, I am open to any suggestions
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to build.
Ideally this weekend I would go check out Microcenter based on any parts list provided and begin building
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Everything for a basic setup besides a mousepad. I am starting from scratch so everything required to make a great pc. I would prefer a headset, but not fully necessary if the monitor has onboard sound
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
I am in Ann Arbor, Michigan, US and have access to the Microcenter in Madison Heights (about 40 minute drive)
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I do not own any previous parts to reuse besides a mousepad if that counts
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
I haven’t looked into it much, but don’t think it would be necessary for my planned use of the pc
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
I currently utilize my laptop’s 256gb ssd as my only means of storage and it causes me to purge files maybe once every 6 months in order to clear space so ideally I’d like an ssd with 512gb - 1tb. Definitely need a webcam of some sort for Zoom classes, and I don’t know much about the webcams, but if a built-in microphone is possible to save some money, that’d be great
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
I’m mildly OCD so I’d prefer a color theme, though no preference as to what color (whatever is easiest based on components is fine by me). LED doesn’t really matter to me either way, the functionality of the component is more important. I’d prefer a window to be able to look at my accomplishment of building the pc
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Yes, Windows 10 would be preferred. Not sure what other options are available, but wouldn’t think I need anything beyond the basic package
Extra info or particulars:
I don’t know much about using any liquid coolant systems so I would prefer just airflow unless you feel it’s an easy to figure out AIO.
I would prefer to get new parts only as I have had bad experiences buying used in the past.
I would ideally stick to the AMD side of things as the little research I have done leans towards their companies for what I’m aiming to do with the pc, but I recognize I’m not as knowledgeable as you all so am open to suggestions.
If I missed anything necessary, feel free to ask and I should be pretty quick to respond as my day is pretty open today.
Thank you in advance for any help that you’re able to provide and for taking the time to help me out!

2020.09.18 13:07 MadtownMaven Voting Megathread!

Hi all,
In the lead up to the election, we'll be posting voting megathread to help everyone exercise their right to vote. For most of your Madison voting questions, the City Clerk's office has an extensive voting website
Absentee Ballots are being mailed out!
This week the Madison Clerk's office has started mailing out absentee ballots that have already been requested. They will continue to mail out ballots as requests are received leading up to the election.
Register or request an absentee ballot
If you need to register or still need to request an absentee ballot, there is still time to do both of those things online. Again visit myvote.wi.gov to be able to do both. As it gets closer to the election there will be curb-side registration and absentee voting available downtown at the Clerk's office. We'll post more info about that when it gets closer to happening.
How to return your absentee ballot
Here's a link to the City Clerk's Office site all about absentee ballots
There are a few different ways you can cast your absentee ballot:
All the above information is for City of Madison voters. If you live in a neighboring community, you'll need to follow the instructions for your specific community. Search "city name clerk's office" will likely bring up information about any local drop boxes for absentee ballots for your town.
There are many election officials that visit this subreddit (myself included), so if you have any questions about voting, please ask below.

2020.09.18 06:51 throwaway-iguanas I just found out my (23F) boyfriend (37M) downloaded Ashley Madison while we have been dating. What should I do?

Im on a throwaway because my boyfriend knows my regular account, but the title is self explanatory.
To give some background, we met through work and have been dating for a year now. We have been long distance since March due to covid. We both have a history with infidelity, but have continued to promise each other that this was our way of starting fresh and if we wanted to mess around outside our relationship, we would leave rather than cheat on the other. He has been devoted, invested in our relationship, and we talk a lot, from sun up to sun down basically. We are always in tune with what each other is doing and how we are feeling.
My boyfriend and I share a family iCloud account, so while browsing through my historical app purchases, I realized I also had access to his purchases as well. Out of sheer curiosity I opened it, not expecting to find anything out of the ordinary. I saw he downloaded the Ashley Madison app, an app used for married people to connect and have affairs, on June 3, 2020.
I screenshotted the purchase list with the date and confronted him. He said that date was when he restored all his purchases on a new iPad, but that doesn’t makes sense as I looked it up and confirmed it’s the date of first download not last download and no other apps have that same date, which they would if his story was correct.
He continued to tell me he had it in the past long before we were together, but never used it since we have been dating. He showed me his iPad and iPhone which didn’t have the app currently downloaded.
He got defensive and explained he didn’t have the energy, time, or self confidence and he wasn’t looking for other women. He got angry at me for “jumping down his throat” about it, rather than just asking casually about why that was there. We got into a huge argument about it because I know he’s not telling the truth and I don’t think I’m out of line by sending the screenshot and asking for him to explain. He has also since turned off the feature for me to see his purchases.
(The following is pure speculation, read at your own risk) Before I confronted him, I wanted to see if he had an active profile, so I created a fake profile in his area. I didn’t find any pictures, but I saw a profile I thought might be his given it was around the same age and description, but the username was HarveyP. BF is a huge Suits tv show fan (where the main character’s name is Harvey and he has always identified with him) and his first name starts with P. Again, pure speculation, but after I confronted him, I looked again to see if it was still there and the profile has disappeared.
Up until this point, things has been nearly perfect. We have had a few bumps in the road, but nothing out of the ordinary. We have talked very seriously about the future and how we want to be together. I love this man with my whole heart and have stayed loyal and devoted to him, but this crushes me.
How should I handle this? Should I leave or try to stay and work it out?
Thank you in advance, I have always appreciated the kindness and openness of this community.

2020.09.18 03:30 mczag9 Jojojojojojojojojojojojojojo

Now that Madison's brother is dating Jojo, that's literally all they can talk about!!! Their entire new video was just talking about Jojo and Mark and was not about family time having a bonfire at all.
1) What happens when they inevitably break up?
2) Do you think Kyler is jealous that Jojo is more famous than he will ever be?
3) Why were they squirting lighter fluid on the fire with the kids, especially Halston, standing so close to it!?!
I'm sorry, but both their videos are getting worse and worse.

2020.09.18 02:25 carpe_diem833 Getting Stuck in a Binge/Purge Cycle

I’m new here & it’s really hard for me to open up about things. I’m in a committed monogamous relationship but I keep finding myself in a vicious cycle of downloading various dating apps (usually tinder & Ashley Madison), talking to a few people & getting a huge rush from it then deleting the apps & proceeding to feel horrible about myself but only until a few days later when I start wanting a new connection & downloading them again. I hate the anxiety & paranoia I feel when I have active profiles but it feels impossible to stop. If anyone has advice on how to get past this & how to find support groups in my area that would be awesome. I’m already in counseling individually.

2020.09.17 22:46 chiisaisuzume Paul Heyman Reinvents Himself Again With Roman Reigns Partnership

“It’s an opportunity 33 years into my performing career to completely redefine, reimagine and reinvent myself,” Heyman says. “I’m now the special counsel to the tribal chief, a role I’ve never played.
“I’ve been a manager. I’ve been an agent. I’ve been an advocate. I’ve been the CEO of the Dangerous Alliance. I’ve been an executive producer in ECW. I’ve been the executive director of Monday Night Raw. I’ve been the general manager of multiple brands. This is a completely different role for me. That’s the way I look at it and approach it, and it’s a completely different dynamic than I’ve ever had with any other talent.”
Just as with Lesnar, Heyman has a long history with Reigns, although Heyman has an altogether different rapport with Lesnar than he does with Reigns, the product of their time together on the road, fighting through failure and shared triumphs in a business where friends are few and confidants are even rarer.
“With Brock Lesnar, I began by advocating for the next big thing, an NCAA Division I champion,” Heyman says. “We were tied together at the hip on his way to the top. That’s not what this is. Roman Reigns has been established as the top act for eight years, and I was the one thrown out into the ocean of obscurity. Roman Reigns rescued me.
“We’re not navigating his trajectory to the top. Our entire focus is keeping him fresh, relevant and reinvigorated, and making that presentation seamless. That is exhilarating, even for someone who had a career in wrestling that dates back to being a photographer as a kid in Vince McMahon Sr.’s Madison Square Garden locker room.”
Heyman fielded the next question without hesitation, noting that, yes, Lesnar is well aware that Reigns now stands in the spot that he long occupied.
“Brock Lesnar is very aware that I am working with Roman Reigns,” Heyman says. “There shouldn’t be any confusion here. Brock Lesnar legitimately does whatever Brock Lesnar wants to do. There is no shortage of box-office appeal in the name Brock Lesnar. If and when Brock Lesnar wants to capitalize on that box office appeal, his name will be ringing from the headlines the moment he decides to return to the ring.”
Lesnar and Heyman have built an extremely lucrative partnership over nearly two decades, but Reigns and Heyman share a more personal history.
“If you look at the backstory, it all makes sense,” explains Heyman. “Since day one, I’ve pontificated the greatness of Roman Reigns. There was a time going into WrestleMania 31 when it was Roman Reigns against Brock Lesnar for the title. And I said, in any era, my money’s on Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns in his prime versus Bruno Sammartino in his prime? My money’s on Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns against Ric Flair, both in their prime? My money’s on Roman Reigns. Reigns vs. Hulk Hogan? Reigns vs. the Rock? Reigns vs. John Cena? Put whomever you want against Reigns, and I’ll take Reigns—and I was stating this a half-decade ago.”
The Reigns–Heyman alliance extends far deeper than a partnership on SmackDown. There is footage of Heyman consoling Reigns in the Gorilla position on Raw in 2018 after Reigns announced that he had leukemia. That was more than a colleague wishing the best to his coworker: It was raw emotion after being hit with life-or-death news regarding a man whom he had known since he was a child.
Heyman is notorious on screen for keeping his composure, no matter what a live crowd or an opponent may verbally hurl in his direction, but he is also a man with intense passion and conviction behind the curtain. Heyman has known Reigns’s family since he was 15, sharing car rides with Afa and Sika Anoa’I as a teenage photographer to Allentown and Hamburg, Penn.
“With all humility aside, this is the biggest move WWE could make with its talent at the moment,” Heyman says. “We have the tenured, still-young, just-hitting-his-prime WrestleMania main-eventer, the undisputed No. 1 star in WWE, and he’d been off for seven months. Didn’t even appear at this year’s WrestleMania. Now he’s ready to come back, and he returns with someone that has been on top and been associated with top acts for 30 years. However you define me, whether it’s as a manager, an advocate, a supporting mouthpiece, and now special counsel to the tribal chief, I have been with more WWE and universal champions than anyone. And now these two acts are together for the first time.”
The role with Reigns has given Heyman new life as an on-screen performer after McMahon opted to remove Heyman from his position as executive director of Raw and replace him with Bruce Prichard. Now, instead of generating ideas for talent to succeed and then carefully pitching those ideas to McMahon, which are two altogether different tasks, Heyman has narrowed his lens to focus solely on Reigns. And that is fortuitous for the rest of the roster, Heyman notes, because Reigns’s star is so bright that it reflects onto those around him savvy enough to see such golden opportunity.
“Roman Reigns coming back to WWE gives everyone on the roster an opportunity to redefine themselves,” Heyman says, who has creative input into Reigns’s story lines. “They now inhabit what I refer to as ‘The Island of Relevancy.’ Roman Reigns is the headliner, which instantly makes everyone relevant. He is the single biggest superstar of the past decade and remains that today. Everyone gets a chance to redefine themselves in the orbit of the tribal chief, the centerpiece of WWE.”
This Friday on SmackDown, nine days before Reigns will meet Jey Uso in the main event of Clash of Champions for the universal championship, the two team up in a street fight. The story is predicated on the idea that “you’ll never see it coming,” which was the tagline at SummerSlam that foreshadowed the return of Reigns, his alliance with Heyman, regaining the title he never lost and, most recently, encountering a new No. 1 contender in his cousin Uso.
“That was only the first two weeks,” Heyman says. “We plan on topping that every week. And the reason we will is because of Roman Reigns. He has been at the very top of WWE since he debuted in 2012, yet is even more ambitious today than I’ve ever known him to be. Everything he has accomplished up to now has served as a buildup to the true Hall of Fame portion of his career.
“Roman takes the responsibility of being the top star in WWE very seriously, and he is going to do this Friday what he’s done for his entire career. He’s going to overdeliver on SmackDown, and when the show is over, people will be talking about it. And you can believe that.”
